Yolanda Foster: Lyme Disease Is Worse Than Cancer!

Yolanda Foster certainly isn’t doing anything good for her brand lately, as she’s been catching a lot of flack from both Housewives and fans alike. Recently, Yolanda’s been staying busy on her social media accounts, which has definitely only made the situation worse for her.

Just a few days ago, Yolanda updated her Instagram account with a picture of a smiley face and some words of wisdom to go along with it:

At this point, you’re probably wondering how something like this could completely backfire and blow up in Yolanda’s face. I mean, how could something like this cause backlash? Well, this post in particular didn’t cause the backlash.

Instead, it was the comment that Yolanda later left on her photo that enraged some of her followers:

Some people, as you’ll see in the comment below Yolanda’s sympathize with her. There’s certainly no arguing that either disease is absolutely horrible, and would be very trying to go through. However, you can imagine that people aren’t happy when you’re comparing two diseases against each other. At the end of the day, both of these diseases are absolutely horrible, and terrible for victims to go through.

People are saying that Yolanda’s comment is simply insensitive, and uncalled for. What do you think? Sound off in the comment section below!

I have a friend who was fighting stage four breast cancer, who commented to me that it was easier to cope with cancer because at least she had some good days, unlike me. Yolanda’s naysaying followers know nothing about Lyme disease.

The difference is one of these diseases is recognised, researched, and supported. The other, people are left to fend for themselves with frightening symptoms of a progressive disease with no end in sight. It’s slow torture.

My Dad died of Lymphatic Cancer. Until his last 3 weeks of life he was never as sick as i am every single day with lyme. Going on 5 years of unrelenting pain, fatigue, and constant flu feeling. It feels like Im dying, but I don’t die.

I don’t see where she compared Lyme with cancer, nor said it was WORSE THAN CANCER!, as your ridiculous headline states. She just posted something that a sufferer or medical personnel who care for patients, wrote somewhere. It’s like saying quitting smoking is harder than quitting heroin – it leaves out 99% of the picture, but strikes a chord with people (ahem, gets attention).

AFAIK, Lyme isn’t an often-deadly-disease like cancer is, so the original statement was probably made because they don’t have that same high risk factor, IOW – it’s easy for them to say. Don’t mistake this for my being a Yolanda fan, because I certainly am not, I just hate the hyperbole and misstatements published and being taken as truth.

Anyway, frankly, I’m getting sick of her embracing and feeding off the victim role and expecting everyone else to…what? What does she expect everyone to do? Hold her hand day and night, telling her how sorry they feel for her? Geezus, it’s enough already.

(I’m permanently disabled with neurological disease, so it’s not like I’m talking out of my ass.)
