Each year, for the last 5, Bravo has ushered in their summer season with an entertaining promo video featuring some of the network’s biggest stars. From living it up on a dessert island to a playful Olympics-inspired field day, each year producers strive to outdo the last with a fun, Bravolebrity-packed theme. This year, the Summer By Bravo campaign got perhaps the most aptly chosen premise yet: a Bravo-fied 3-ring circus! With Andy Cohen appropriately cast as ring leader, we’re treated to a series of circus-inspired performances from our favorite Bravolebs.
Lisa Vanderpump is a lion tamer along with help from her faithful assistant, Giggy. Jenni Pulos and Zoila Chavez are clowns playing a joke on Jeff Lewis. And (because why wouldn’t he be?) James Lipton is a human cannonball. Additional appearances from Curtis Stone, Josh Altman, Kandi Burruss, Andy Cohen, Tom Colicchio, Karena Dawn, Heather Dubrow, Fredrik Eklund, Reza Farahan, Josh Flagg, Melissa Gorga, Kat Held, Katrina Hodgson, Mica Hughes, M.J. Javid, Tamra Judge, Padma Lakshmi, NeNe Leakes, Dina Manzo, Sonja Morgan, Kyle Richards, Ben Robinson, Stassi Schroeder, Ryan Serhant, Gail Simmons, Ramona Singer, Bevy Smith, Patti Stanger, Jax Taylor, Quad Webb-Lunceford and Simone Whitmore round out the promo.
Among these names, most are the biggest stars of their respective, successful shows. However, a few surprised me and are noteworthy. For instance, what should we make of Karena and Katrina of Toned Up being invited to finish out the promo? (They’re the girls on the teeter-totter at the end.) Does this mean they’ll be returning to Bravo despite no indication until now about their relatively unpopular show being renewed? Fingers crossed! And, how about Chef Ben Robinson and Kat Held from Below Deck? We know Below Deck will be returning this summer but have had no word that any of the same cast would be back–is this a hint that they will? Similarly, we know Vanderpump Rules will be returning but also know that Stassi is no longer working at SUR; there she was in the promo, though, so I can only assume she’ll be back on Season 3 in some capacity. It could be that none of these appearances are as meaningful as I’m speculating but seeing as how it’s a promotional campaign it sure seems like stars of upcoming rather than past seasons makes the most sense–right? We’ll have to wait and see!
With a sizzling lineup of upcoming programming, Bravo’s new and returning summer series include: “The Real Housewives of Atlanta: Kandi’s Wedding” season one (June 1), “Ladies of London” season one (June 2), “Untying the Knot” season one (June 4), “Million Dollar Listing Miami” season one (June 25), “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” season six (July 13), “Game of Crowns” season one, “Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles season seven, “Below Deck” season two, “Top Chef Duels” season one, “Extreme Guide to Parenting” season one, “Don’t Be Tardy…” season three. Continuing throughout the summer will be new episodes of “The Real Housewives of Orange County” season nine, “Watch What Happens Live,” “The Real Housewives of New York City” season six, “Fashion Queens” season two, “Married to Medicine” season two, “Million Dollar Listing New York” season three.
