The Real Housewives of Orange County alum, Vicki Gunvalson, is back in action on the new season, but a lot of people have noticed that she looks slimmer than she used to. Well, that’s because Vicki has dropped 22lbs, and she shared with ET how she did it:
I lost 22lbs. I changed a lot of things. You know, when life gives you changes, change everything. It was over a three-month period. I cut out all alcohol. I was down to 500 calories a day. No carbs, so I just did lettuce and grapefruit in the morning… celery, carrots, whatever it could be. Just very raw, and then nothing really for lunch. I would just do water, lemon water. Hot lemon water. And then at night, I would just have salad and protein, and it worked!
Vicki then went on to say that her breakup with Brooks Ayers is actually what motivated her to “change everything.”
You know what, I was at such a depressed state. I’m 54 now, and your metabolism changes. I put on, like, 10 pounds from my 40s to my 50s, and I never felt strong. I don’t want to be a bodybuilder. I don’t want to do all that stuff, but I wanted to feel like, OK, I’m gonna be single now. I gotta look my best, right?
Without a doubt, Vicki is looking absolutely amazing, and she has already nabbed herself a new man:
I’m protecting my heart, ’cause my heart really got stomped on and it got damaged. The new man has never watched The Real Housewives of Orange County. How crazy is that? So, he likes me for me! And not some thought of being on TV or such, which is very, very clean to me. It’s very organic … he’s courting me. So I’ll take it, right?
As for her new man, Steve Lodge, you won’t be seeing much of him on the show. As a matter of fact, he’s only going to make a brief appearance, and those will occur near the end of the season.
Congratulations are definitely in order for Vicki and her weight loss journey. Granted, only taking in 500 calories is absolutely insane, and definitely not for everyone, but if that’s what the chick wanted to do, you can’t complain. She lost 22lbs, and she’s feeling great about herself.
Either way, you can’t argue that only 500 calories a day is some massive dedication, and she was able to pull it off.
Congrats on the new figure, and the new man, Vicki! Keep rockin’ on!
