Vicki Gunvalson’s boyfriend, Brooks Ayers, not only admitted that he was faking cancer, but she also suffered the loss of her mother. Plus, her fellow cast members weren’t her biggest fans during season 10.
That being said, it’s not really all that surprising that Vicki wouldn’t be enthusiastic about filming season 11, but she actually came extremely close to up and quitting the show altogether. Keep in mind, this woman is Housewives royalty, and is one of the original gangstas that made #RHOC what it is today.
In a recent interview with E!, Gunvalson reveals why she almost peaced out for the new season, but then she was able to find the inspiration to stick around:
I didn’t [think I’d return.] I didn’t think I had the strength. But you know what, my story wasn’t finished. I’m not gonna end as a victim. I’m not going to let these women have the last say-so in what they believe the truth was. I know my truth.
With the new season premiering on Monday, Vicki gives us a little teaser as to what we can expect out of the latest season:
I think what we’re gonna see this season is it definitely starts off very awkward, but the best part of this season is we have a new cast member. She bring a whole lot of opinions and I love her. We have a great relationship.
Vicki does reflect a bit on her past, and gives us an insight in to where she’s at in her life right now:
I’m happy. It’s been almost a year since Brooks [Ayers] and I broke up, and a lot can happen in a year. I’m trying to mend my heart. I got my heart broken, but it was in God’s timing you know I just believe that what is to be is to be, and it wasn’t meant to be, so I’m at this new place and I’m happy. I’m really fortunate to have good people in my life right now. Really good people.

Hey, we have to admit that we’re happy for Vicki, and the fact that she’s moving on to bigger and better things.
Make sure you tune in to Bravo on Monday, June 20th, for the season 11 premiere of The Real Housewives of Orange County, which will air at 9 EST.
