Is it that time already? It feels like only yesterday that The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 4 premiered, yet here we are, gearing up for the finale and reunion. I always feel a bittersweet mix of excitement and sadness at this point in a Housewives season but, for Beverly Hills, my emotional tumult is particularly heightened. The ladies of the 90210 hold a special place in my heart.
Season 4 has been at times a rocky ride, a glamorous affair, an eye-popping catastrophe of shade throwing and insult hurling, and–overall, a journey of friendships formed, mended, damaged, and broken. After 18 drama-filled episodes, the ladies are ready to wrap things up next week as we come full-circle; the season kicked off with a celebration of the Beverly Hills centennial and we’ll end on that note as well. Despite the similarity of occasion, things with this group of women couldn’t be more different than where they started.
In the Season 4 finale we’ll watch as Kyle tries, once and for all, to find out if Lisa is actually her friend (signs point to no). And, while they don’t seem all-together pissed off at each other, it doesn’t appear Brandi & Carlton will be locking lips again anytime soon. All of the women confront Lisa about magazine-gate (because that went over so well the first time…) and Yolanda has had enough of Ken’s meddling in the girls’ issues. Here are a few clips and pictures from the glitzy, climactic, night to remember:
Looks like things are going to go down about as we could expect given how the last couple of episodes have been. I can’t completely decide how I feel about this whole everyone vs. Lisa thing. On the one hand, I feel certain that Brandi wouldn’t be so upset with Lisa if she didn’t actually feel hurt about whatever has changed in their relationship and/or the whole Scheana thing (I agree that it’s not cool of Lisa to have Scheana around Brandi at events that are outside of the restaurant). On the other hand, I feel like Brandi brought the magazine issue up to Kyle just to drive a wedge in her mending relationship with Lisa. Kyle probably should have just recognized that whatever happened with the magazine both women were likely guilty on some level of participating in the gossip (doesn’t she care that Brandi was the one who BOUGHT the infamous tabloids in the first place?) And Yolanda may have a legitimate gripe that Lisa didn’t come to her painting party–but where is the rest of her animosity coming from? Kim is still super-sensitive (understandably) about any little jabs at her sobriety and seems unable to get over Lisa missing her daughter’s graduation party. Overall, I think Lisa may now be paying the piper for having played the ring-leader over the last few seasons. And, Lisa is missing from that finale group shot…can’t help but wonder if things got so heated that she and Ken ducked out early, just like in Puerto Rico. It all definitely will make for a fantastic 3-part reunion!
So, without further ado, let’s take a look at what we can expect from the RHOBH Season 4 reunion:
The gripping, three-part Beverly Hills reunion begins Monday, March 17 at 9 PM, as Andy Cohen questions the women about the dramatic twists and turns of season four. Joyce and Brandi prove that there is no love lost between them, and the women explore what happened when the “dream team” of Yolanda, Lisa and Brandi started to show its cracks. Then, things lighten up as Kim discusses her favorite season yet.
During Part II, Monday, March 24 at 9 PM, the Beverly Hills housewives share laughter over their health and beauty regimens and also shed tears talking about their children who are growing up and leaving home. Brandi delves into the tough year she has had, while Kim doesn’t hide her conflicted feelings about Lisa. After some rough words, Kyle and Carlton determine that they will most likely never, ever be friends.
On Part III airing Monday, March 31 at 9 PM, the dramatic Beverly Hills reunion continues, with Lisa in the hot seat as Yolanda, Brandi and Kyle all discuss the problems they’ve had with her while, at the same time, hope for some resolution. Then, the husbands join the fray and Ken tells an emotional Brandi that he may never be able to accept her back into his life. Or can he?
Finally, don’t miss the “Secrets Revealed” special on Monday, April 7 at 9 PM with exclusive behind-the-scenes moments from season four. Kim teaches Brandi how to act in a TV movie, Lisa and Joyce bond over a candid dinner with their husbands, Kim receives advice about how to plump her lips from an old friend, and Kyle learns how to be a TV presenter. Oh, and Lisa almost marries off Ken to a burly construction worker. (You’ll just have to watch!)
In anticipation of the reunion, Bravo released a sneak peek preview of all the unbridled drama to come:
Wow. I’m not even sure where to start! Let me first say that, despite having kept mostly quiet about my opinions on the new girls up until now, I CAN’T STAND Carlton!! While I don’t think calling her “witchy-poo” was, perhaps, Kyle’s best choice of words, Carlton is totally off her rocker. She clearly had it out for Kyle from the very beginning and, in the reunion, will continue to fling insults from her gothic glass house. She’ll also continue her blind hypocrisy toward Joyce about discussing her husband’s *ahem*…man parts, after using virtually all her screen time this season to show viewers her sex room, sex toys, pole dancing skills, Playboy mansion-style parties, and every part of her body she could possibly get away with showing on cable television (in front of her mother-in-law, no less!) ARGH!! Ok…I’ll stop . More on both Carlton and Joyce next time when I’ll be analyzing who will and won’t be returning for Season 5.
Anywhoo, the RHOBH reunion is sure not to disappoint. Not sure if anything is going to be resolved…but that’s what next season is for! I’ll close by sharing some photos from the reunion to hold you over. When the dresses are this tight, the faces this botoxed, and the tensions so high, it’s bound to be a wild ride!
