More than any other Housewives city, the New Jersey husbands play a big role in the show’s drama. From Joe Gorga’s historically tumultuous relationship with his sister Teresa and subsequent Season 5 brawl with Joe Giudice (who brings his own host of issues to the table), to newbie Rino Aprea’s over-the-top and almost-endearingly chauvinistic tendencies, the New Jersey guys are most definitely characters in their own right. So, fittingly, Bravo has given the Real Husbands of New Jersey their very own well-deserved taglines AND a hilariously realistic opening credits video to share them with the world! The clip features all the guys from the new season: both Joes, Rino, Bobby & Jim, and captures each hubby as a unique addition to the show through mini montages and quippy quotes. Check it out:
I gotta say, it’s hard to pick a favorite! Both Joes are holding their own but I have to credit new-guy Jim’s hair flip as the intro’s shining moment. And Joe Giudice’s raunchy laugh to close out the clip? In the words of Teresa: I just love, love, love it!!!
I can’t wait to see how this season’s guys are going to play in to all the ladies’ drama but it’s a sure bet that they won’t disappoint. Already we’ve watched Jim pontificate about how he couldn’t possibly socialize with the likes of Joe Giudice (uhhmm…you did realize what show you were signing up for, right Jim?) and learned about how cooking compares with the female anatomy from Rino. Keeping the culinary metaphors rolling–the sibling rivalry between Joe and Teresa seems to be on the back burner, at least for now, having been replaced with several touching scenes of family-togetherness as the Giudices prepare for possible jail time. On a side note: has anyone else noticed how bulked up Joe Gorga got this season in some of his interview clips? Guess we’ll have to keep watching to see when the roid-rage kicks in!
Chances are, if you’re a fan of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, it’s at least partly thanks to the husbands. These guys aren’t afraid to get down and dirty amongst themselves or with the women of the show. The only Real Husband from another city who rivals these dude’s penchant for drama is possibly Peter Thomas of RHOA–and he got called a bitch by NeNe as a result. So, New Jersey Husbands, you just keep doing you, and don’t forget to keep it REAL!
Who’s your favorite Real husband of New Jersey and who’s tagline do you like best?
