Real Housewives of New York Season 6 Back on Track

Who wants more money?

Production was supposed to start last week on RHONY season 6 but was reportedly delayed when the cast teamed-up in an attempt to secure salary raises. That’s right, apparently these women I are capable of uniting under common cause–so long as that cause is $$$.

It seems that Bravo wants all 6 ladies back (Ramona Singer, Luanne De Lesseps, Sonja Morgan, Carole Radziwill, Heather Thomson & Aviva Drescher) but only if the ladies would agree to the salary offers on the table.

Carole Radziwill even took to Twitter, saying: “I still haven’t decided. Payscale is ridix + it irks me to be given ultimatums. Just ask my last 5 boyfriends. :)”

We don’t know what she means by “ridix” but earlier this month OK! Weekly reported Singer and De  Lesseps — the reality show’s two remaining original cast members — each allegedly earn $500,000 a season plus bonuses, while Morgan receives $220,000, Drescher $200,000, and Thomson $175,000. Radziwill was not included in OK!’s alleged salary information.

In the end, according to Deadline, “the Housewives took the modest pay increases Bravo was offering for season 6 rather than continue to hold out for big raises and risk getting booted off”. They say Bravo also threw in a few more contractual perks like covering expenses for additional hair and make-up for the cast. At least we know the ladies will be lookin’ good!

What do you think about the RHONY “strike”? Do you think Bravo would be better off re-casting or caving in to their demands?
