Hot off the success of Million Dollar Listing LA’s 6th season Bravo has announced that the franchise will be expanding. Not only has the LA installment been picked up for a 7th season, we’re soon to be introduced to a whole new crop of high-end realtors. So, without further ado, let me say….WELCOME TO MIAMI!!
The October 23 finale of MDLLA delivered over 1.7 million total viewers, making it the highest rated season and episode in franchise history. What’s more, according to Bravo’s veep of current production and original programming, Shari Levine, Million Dollar Listing viewership “skews evenly” across women and men. It’s no wonder, then, that Bravo is looking to double down on that success.
Million Dollar Listing Miami will showcase the sexy city of Miami where top luxury real estate agents battle it out in the world of high-end real estate. With a surging market in South Florida, properties are selling for record rates and agents are cashing in on massive commissions like never before. The mansions are bigger, the high-rises are taller, the amenities are more luxe and the locals have access to amazing views, beaches and a lifestyle unlike anywhere else in the world. Business can get heated as the brokers attempt to make a name for themselves and outshine their competition by landing the next big listing in America’s hottest city.
Sounds like something worth watching to me and I have a feeling most of those 1.7 million viewers will agree! No word yet about a premiere date but the announcement means that it’s likely already filmed and in production. And, of course, you’ll be the first to know as soon as I hear something!
4/29 UPDATE: Million Dollar Listing Miami will premiere Wednesday, June 25 at 9pm ET/PT
But wait…today’s Million Dollar Listing news doesn’t end there! I’ve also been hearing talk of ANOTHER new franchise location. Can you guess where? Could it be Million Dollar Listing Atlanta? Bravo does seem to love filming in the ATL… No…hmmm…what about Million Dollar Listing Seattle? We could use a little more love for the North West from Bravo but nope, that’s not it. How about Million Dollar Listing Chicago or San Francisco or maybe even London…all of those cities certainly boast some pretty hefty real estate prices. Give up??
Word is that the the next installment will be Million Dollar Listing Dallas!! And, hey, if everything really is bigger in Texas then let’s hope the real estate market is too. Bigger homes and (is it even possible) bigger realtor’s personalities! According to real estate blogger Candy Evans, Bravo producers have been contacting everyone and anyone (including her) in the Dallas market for their casting search. She even shared the casting call flyer that’s being circulating:
She’s also got some ideas about which brokers have Million Dollar potential and is sharing quite a few names:
“I have heard that our wonderful Hunter Dehn is in the running and they LOVE HIM — talk about someone with gorgeous listings and only the nicest of egos.”
“We love Hunter, he’s a slam-dunk. Here’s a few more for ya: Allie Beth Allman, who sold President and Mrs. Bush their home; Doris Jacobs (and her two darling daughters); Erin Mathews; Becky Frey; Kyle Crews; Ben Jones; Kari Schlegel Kloewer; Clay Stapp; Rustin Smith; Joan Eleazer; Ginger and Susan; Diane Duvall Rogers oh my yes; Susan Marcus; Ellen Terry; Todd Terry (already an actor for cripes sake); Carolyn Summers; Dave Perry-Miller (shoot his wonderful homes); Ralph Randall; Joe Kobell; Mark Cain; Ryan Streif; come on help me out here …”
Well, that list should certainly keep casting agents busy for a while!
What do you think about Million Dollar Listing’s current and future success? Are you already a fan of LA and NYC and will you watch Miami and/or Dallas?
