As if this season of RHOA hasn’t been dramatic enough, culminating in last week’s pajama party brawl, Apollo is apparently keeping busy in real-time, too. Phaedra’s hubby and father of her two boys already has a long rap sheet and, you may have heard, did some hard time between 2004 and 2009 for auto title fraud. It looks like he may not have learned his lesson, however. Last week, he surrendered to authorities after being charged with bank fraud and identity theft, according to a complaint filed by the U.S. District Attorney’s office. Here are some of the details from the actual complaint obtained by Access Atlanta:
Alexandre Herrera, a U.S. Secret Service Agent in the Counterfeit and U.S. Treasury Check Squad, in a written affidavit, charged that Nida created fake companies, enabling him to access databases to find individuals to rip off. He opened fake bank accounts under those real names and funneled stolen U.S. Treasury checks and auto loan proceeds into those accounts.
Nida was named by an alleged co-conspirator, Gayla St. Julien, who was arrested last September with $3 million in multiple bank accounts tied to her. She claims she was Apollo’s “right hand b****”, and that he was the one making the real money out of the operation.
Access Atlanta reports that Nida would allegedly steal identities, and then have St. Julien pose as the theft victims. The woman would then go and open bank accounts using the stolen identities.
The report alleges that Apollo also opened a fake auto dealership and applied for auto loans in the names of stolen identities.
After the arrest, the agents had Gayla St. Julien tape record conversations with Nida in which he explained many of his schemes.
Apollo was released on $25,000 bail but is under strict conditions from the court. According to court documents obtained by Radar Online, Nida is required to regularly report to a probations officer, and actively seek employment. (Apparently his appearance on RHOA doesn’t count in the eyes of the court!) Court officers are also looking to restrict his movements: Nida was ordered to surrender his passport, and he may only leave the Atlanta area if officials approve the trip in advance, and appoint a supervisor to accompany him. He is also required to refrain from any drug or alcohol use and surrender any firearms in his possession.
The big question on many people’s minds is did Phaedra know anything about any of Apollo’s alleged crimes? What do you think?
