4/8 UPDATE: Bravo confirmed that Don’t Be Tardy has been renewed for Season 3! We’ll be on the lookout for any mention of a premiere date!
There’s been a lot of speculation since Season 2 wrapped about whether Kim Zolciak Biermann and the rest of the Biermann bunch would be returning for Don’t Be Tardy Season 3. We heard talk as early as April of 2013 that the fam was already filming again. While I think that timeline would have been a little bit far-fetched, I’ve become increasingly confident that Kim and her brood will, indeed, be back on Bravo in the near future. With no official confirmation from Bravo yet, I’m basing my speculation on a few noteworthy clues:
1) Kim’s daughter, Brielle, took to Instagram recently to share her excitement about Season 3 with fans. She posted this throwback Don’t Be Tardy photo along with the caption “so… who’s ready for don’t be tardy season 3???!!!!!! ☺️”
That seems like a pretty solid clue, no? Obviously Brielle isn’t an official Bravo spokesperson nor is she giving us much detail here but I still take it as a very promising sign.
2) Don’t Be Tardy Season 2 ratings. With 1,070,833 average viewers per episode including 626,583 in the important 18-49 age group, Don’t Be Tardy Season 2 beat out both Newlyweds: The First Year and Million Dollar Listing NY, both of which have already been renewed. So, it would stand to reason, Don’t Be Tardy should be picked up, too…right? Sure, but there’s still a problem. When comparing the Season 2 ratings to that of Don’t Be Tardy’s premiere season, we notice a -29.40% drop. Now, some slippage would be expected since Season 1 had Kim’s wedding as it’s focal point. However, a nearly 30% decrease in total viewership still hurts. Overall, I’m still guessing her Season 2 ratings were high enough to earn Kim a 3rd try (they say it’s a charm, right?) but you can bet Bravo will be watching the Season 3 ratings very closely.
3) Kim Zolciak Biermann to appear on Watch What Happens Live on Sunday, March 16. Typically, Andy invites Bravolebrities onto WWHL on days which make sense for them to talk about their shows. For instance, Brandi Glanville will be on tonight following The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 4 finale. Sonja Morgan will be on tomorrow following the Season 6 premiere of The Real Housewives of New York City. So why, then, is Kim going to be appearing randomly this coming Sunday? Perhaps there is some kind of big announcement she’ll be there to promote?
I suppose she could just be coming on to dish on all the drama that’s gone down this season on her former gig, The Real Housewives of Atlanta…but this still seems a little bit suspect to me. The last two seasons have both premiered in mid-late April so the timing would certainly make sense if Don’t Be Tardy Season 3 is coming. Together with the evidence from Brielle’s Instagram share and Season 2 ratings, as well as the timing of this appearance, I’ve got my money on a Don’t Be Tardy Season 3 announcement.
What do you think of the evidence we’ve presented? Would you be excited to watch Don’t Be Tardy Season 3?
