The Real Housewives of Melbourne alum, Chyka Keebaugh, has decided to leave the reality television series after three years of starring on the show.
Chyka, one of the original stars from the show, recently said in an interview with the Herald Sun that she won’t come back if there’s a Real Housewives of Melbourne season 4. Instead, she wants to work on creating an empire in the same vein as Martha Stewart.
“It’s time for a change. I’ve had the most amazing ride and it’s been absolutely wonderful. I feel like I have given as much as I can to the show, and I want to concentrate on other things too. I think it’s good to go out on a high.”
In case you didn’t know, Chyka and her husband, Bruce, run a very popular website for their company, The Big Group, which is one of the most successful events companies in Melbourne.
Chyka has stated that her family is very supporting of her decision.
Recently, Chyka’s daughter, Chessie, landed herself in some driving trouble, but Chyka stated that the recent issues have held no bearing over her decision to part with the show. Instead, she said that the incident actually brought her family closer together. She then went to comment on the Housewives, and how it can become very intrusive into your private life:
“It’s eight months of your life. It goes into everything, it goes into family, all of which has been wonderful. Honestly, no one in my family has had an issue or problem with it. But it does end up taking over all of the conversations, and I think my kids are like, can we not talk about the Housewives? Let’s talk about something else.”
Chyka had this to say to whomever Bravo decides to replace her with:
“Whoever comes in to replace me, or whatever they decide to do, it will be an interesting journey for them.”
