Our favorite network just keeps the new material coming in 2014! After already debuting three new series in January, they’ve made another big announcement today. FIVE, that’s right, 5 new and returning shows hit Bravo in March. It brings new meaning to the term March Madness!
We’ve already covered the three returning series: Flipping Out, The People’s Couch, and, of course, The Real Housewives of New York City. So, let’s talk about the two new additions to the Bravo lineup.
First up, premiering on Monday, March 3 @ 10pm, we’ve got Southern Charm, a location-based docu-series following six young(ish) social climbers navigating single life in their home town. This format seems to be becoming a pattern for Bravo (think, Most Eligible Dallas, The New Atlanta and 100 Days of Summer).
In this latest iteration, Bravo cameras go behind the walls of Charleston, South Carolina’s most aristocratic families to reveal a world of exclusivity, money and scandal that goes back generations. The fast-paced, drama-filled series follows six Charleston singles: Craig Conover, Cameran Eubanks, Jenna King, Thomas Ravenel, Shepard “Shep” Rose, and Whitney Sudler-Smith, who are struggling with the constraints of their tight-knit, posh society.
The cast, some of whom are apparently descendants of Vice Presidents and four-term Senators, and others from “new money,” is comprised of Southern bachelors who suffer from “Peter Pan Syndrome” by refusing to settle down; and the women in their lives who challenge them to grow up. We’ll see them launch political careers, build businesses, break hearts, and chase true love — all while struggling to preserve their family names.
Meet these Southern Charmers in the following extended preview:
Next up, a new series we reported on a few months back gets an official title and air date! Kicking off on Sunday, March 9 @ 10pm, Online Dating Rituals of the American Male, which takes a look at today’s online dating culture from the male perspective. Each week, the show follows two men as they hunt for their ideal partner (or just a good time).
We’ll get an inside look at the mysterious male psyche from the beginning stages of trolling and communicating online to landing a date with a potential match. The series features a variety of men, both gay and straight, from the typical “romantic” searching for his one true love to the guy whose goal is strictly getting lucky. From earnest romance to cringe-worthy moments (“if she’s a brunette the best she can be is an 8”) we’re sure to get a taste of the trials and tribulations that come along with dating in the digital age. The series will move to its regular time slot of Thursdays @ 10pm, beginning March 13 with the premiere of the second episode.
