Ever since Season 3 of The Real Housewives of Miami posted disappointingly low ratings numbers, there has been speculation about the future of the franchise. While we’ve had no word of cancellation, I’ve predicted a big casting shakeup at the very least. Recent talk about Joanna Krupa and Lea Black switching coasts would, if true, certainly be a shakeup of epic proportion!
LaLate has been reporting that several cast members from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills may not be asked back next season due to dwindling or boring story lines. Their feeling is that RHOBH Season 4 is struggling (although not as badly as RHOM S3 did) due to no cast member being able to stand up and argue in an entertaining way, with Brandi Glanville, who they say is currently carrying the show. While I take some issue with this opinion (I agree that she’s the most controversial and argumentative but since when is that the only thing Housewives fans tune in for?) I can understand the logic. Ratings speak for themselves. So, why the talk about Joanna Krupa and Lea Black joining the mix?
First of all, there’s Joanna’s questionable relationship with Yolanda Foster’s ex hubby Mohamed. This a hot button for those two as well as Brandi Glanville, who managed to weasel her way into that conflict by telling Joanna’s RHOM cast mate Adriana De Moura that Joanna had slept with Mohamed while he was still married to Yolanda. Joanna and Mohamed both deny they have ever been anything more than good friends. mmhmmm. Either way, it makes for good TV.
The idea of Bravo uprooting a Housewife from one city and planting her in another has always seemed exciting but a little bit outlandish to me so I still never took this particular theory very seriously. That was until I realized, as LaLate pointed out, that Bravo spent a lot of time last season on The Real Housewives of Miami showing both Joanna’s and Lisa’s lavish LA homes, in great detail. Hmmm. It’s been a multi-season story line that Joanna is bi-coastal and this has been a strain on her relationship with now husband Roman. But why move Lea too? It turns out she already knows all the Beverly Hills Housewives! She told OK Magazine all about it
So, who knows if there is any chance of this actually happening but even Blair Late (one half of the gay couple on Newlyweds: The First Year) seems to think it’s a strong possibility:

What do you think? Would you like to see Joanna Krupa and/or Lea Black or any of the other Miami women move to the 90210?
